Lo-Carb Tips from the Everyday HousewifeI've been living lo-carb for about five years now, and I've learned a bunch of stuff -- you're welcome to learn from my successes and failures. I've got workarounds for a lot of recipes -- I'm from Texas, so chicken fried steak is a must, as are fried okra and faux margaritas. But also, when you've been on lo-carb awhile, you start to crave things that are hard to get -- like hot cereal, cold cereal, biscuits, muffins and chicken nuggets. Probably the biggest tip I have to offer is -- don't try to be lo-carb and low fat. It's both soul-destroying and counter-productive. To live lo-carb, you'll need to embrace high fat -- drench stuff in alfredo sauce, always add loads of butter. Cheese.
